Sofia is a progressive, independent girl who dreads the word marriage. The only romance in her life is Jane Austen’s. Until she mysteriously finds herself transported to the 19th century. I was really surprised by this, in a very good way, since most of the fantasy and ‘what if’ genre has been told before, and it’s usually a well-worn thing, except that a new audience is coming, but "Perdida" (Lost) actually had some good things to share, a slightly novel take and a new presentation of certain things, despite the fact that most of us know the clichés from romance novels and fantasy themes. It’s based on a bestselling novel (which I haven’t read yet), so what attracted me to it was the fantastical themes and some of the names of the characters. Plot twist: it will be enjoyable, humorous ending This is a movie where you really feel good. Sofia (Giovanna Grigio) is a modern, independent woman, a big fan of Jane Austen novels, who wished she had a romantic life like swooning over a noble, gentle Mr. Darcy type. But in the age of dating/hookup apps and romance going bad, the dream is only real in books, or so she thinks, until she finds herself transported to the 19th century to a place where it’s a mix of Brazil and England, and somehow racial diversity is completely embraced (I really liked it, but many people are confused by this), and there she accidentally bumps into the young, handsome and respectable Ian Clarke (Bruno Montaleone). The rest is up to you to fill in the blanks, how the confusion grows between beings from different eras, with different behaviors and attitudes. society costumes, and if there is to be any love. The production valleys were amazing, from the costumes and art direction to the location (not sure where those beautiful landscapes where Sofia and Ian rode were filmed), the package was presented well. And if we have to say, there is an urgent need for "Perdida" or at least an audience for it, those who feel exactly like Sofia, living and facing an incredible technological age, and are able to believe in love and marriage as nothing more than a social contract; but our era lacks human connection, real affection (as if the Austen era was completely perfect). So the film makes an interesting comparison of the era, the romance of classic novels adapted to modern times, and how the two can connect… if ever. With these questions, there is a lot of humor, the couple are very charming as secondary characters – Ian’s sister (Nathália Falcão) was my favorite, they charm the sunglasses and are always helpful to Sofia. “Perdida” is, however, a story that also leaves its mark on clichés, whether it is fantasy, literature or real life. almost lost in them there is a lot of time, but this is one of those things that always attracts the audience who likes these themes, but repels those who feel exhausted by the repetitions. I was not very bothered and managed to be surprised by some things and the conclusion was quite decent compared to everything presented. Fiction as fiction, but sometimes there are touches that reach reality. To live and learn. 7/10.
